Red Carpet & Rebellion

I can't wait until the day I attended the BAFTAs or the Oscars or some other event where I get to wear lovely red carpet gowns.

R.I.P. Lee Alexander McQueen

The world lost a very important and inspirational designer. Last year, someone asked me about my favorite runway collections and shows. The first collections that came to my mind was Alexander McQueen's Fall 2008 RTW.

From Style.com:
"I've got a 600-year-old elm tree in my garden," he said, "and I made up this story of a girl who lives in it and comes out of the darkness to meet a prince and become a queen." After a trip to India, the designer worked like a fiend for months in his studio, with images of Queen Victoria, the Duke of Wellington, and the Indian Empire running through his mind.

That is exactly what I love about fashion.

R.I.P. You will be missed.

Lanvin love

(Lanvin S/S RTW 2010)

I've always had a fascination with ancient Egypt. One of my favorite Halloween costumes as a child was of Cleopatra. It was from Target and not very opulent at all. But next time I go as Cleo, I will do it right and make sure I have one of these tiger necklaces from Lanvin.

Also thanks to Lanvin, I am also starting to brainstorm ideas for a Medusa costume.

The print on this Versace S/S rtw 2010 dress is absolutely divine. Though, I'm not too keen on wearing this in everyday life, I would love to admire it in my closet.

For every good shoe

...there are 10 horrible ones. These are some of my least favorites from the Spring 2010 season.

The Doo.ri heels are the only ones I can see wearing in day to day life. I think the fabric and feathers on the Galliano shoes are pretty and the Jean-Charles Castelbajac heels are just super cute and fun.

A few of my favorite (yet practical, unlike some *coughalexandermcqueencough*) shoes from the Spring 2010 shows-
