Merry Colemas!

Cheryl Cole is on the cover of Q magazine's February 2010 issue! There is definitely a Sin City vibe from some of the photos, which are nice, but my favorite is more simple with Cheryl rocking a pair of thigh high boots.

Update

I am so sorry for not updating! I have been really sick/busy, but now I am well and have free time so hurray!

Quoth the raven

As one might be able to tell, I have a spot in my heart for macabre jewelry. Skulls, snakes, daggers... I adore them all. If I had more money, Thomas Sabo would be my number one shopping destination for my jewelry fix. My current favorite is this sterling silver and black zirconium raven and crystal pendant. And the cherry on top is the little fleur-de-lis detail.

Halloween is over for another year, but I'd still love to have this necklace by Crave Jewelry Design on Etsy.

Ooh la la la mort

Whether one is searching for an easy Halloween costume or just wanting to inject a bit of the macabre into everyday dressing, the classic image of death (or the grim reaper - minus the scythe) is tres chic.

Lanvin love

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

(Lanvin S/S RTW 2010)

I've always had a fascination with ancient Egypt. One of my favorite Halloween costumes as a child was of Cleopatra. It was from Target and not very opulent at all. But next time I go as Cleo, I will do it right and make sure I have one of these tiger necklaces from Lanvin.

Also thanks to Lanvin, I am also starting to brainstorm ideas for a Medusa costume.

Let them eat cake

Pictures of pastel colored macaroons and cupcakes are everywhere on blogs, flickr, tumblr, etc. Though the photos are eye candy indeed, I'd much rather eat the sugary confections. Fall is my favorite time for baking- the flavors and aromas of pumpkin, apple, spices and lots of chocolates are so pleasing. Here is a list of some of the treats I am dying to make (and eat, but not photograph!)

Autumn Spice Cake from Country Living. Ingredients include cocoa, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and my favorite spice, clove.

Pumpkin seed candy from Martha Stewart. I am willing to try anything that uses honey as a main ingredient.

Pumpkin Creme Brulee from Food Network. The creme de la creme of my fall recipe list!

I am not a Paula Deen fan. Her food usually disgusts me but I am so intrigued by her recipe for Fried Pumpkin Layer Cake with Cream Cheese and Orange frosting.

I lack patience, but if I had some then I would definitely make a Pumpkin Cheesecake from Martha Stewart.

Cinnamon Pumpkin Seed Brittle from Myrecipies.com. An autumn themed variation of classic peanut brittle.

Applesauce Muffins from Martha Stewart. Simple yet delicious.

And to top it all off, Design crush has a recipe for an Autumn Cocktail!

The print on this Versace S/S rtw 2010 dress is absolutely divine. Though, I'm not too keen on wearing this in everyday life, I would love to admire it in my closet.

For every good shoe

...there are 10 horrible ones. These are some of my least favorites from the Spring 2010 season.

The Doo.ri heels are the only ones I can see wearing in day to day life. I think the fabric and feathers on the Galliano shoes are pretty and the Jean-Charles Castelbajac heels are just super cute and fun.

Miss Jackson, if you're nasty.

I am currently lusting after every single accessory from Nasty Girl. The new and vintage clothing sections are tempting as well, but look at that cuff!

Fashion inspiration: Sarah Connor

As I started to see all the "tough chic" fall collections being paraded down the runway, there was one character I kept being reminded of: Sarah Connor. Leather boots, motorcycle jackets, skinny jeans and strappy tanks are her wardrobe staples. Though the show Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicals" was cancelled prematurely, we can still look to Lena Headey's Sarah for sartorial inspiration.

New layout means new updates

I have to thank the amazing Kelly from http://kellyannphotographs.blogspot.com/ and http://rebelwings.blogspot.com/ for my new layout. I love it! Seriously, this girl is mad talented and you should check out her blogs.

Autumn is much more inspiring to me (and of course, the fashion is always better) so expect lots of new updates in the near future!

Original bling

Things that happened in the 1770's:

The Declaration of Independence was ratified.
Marie Antoinette arrived in France.

And this ring was created.

If you have an extra $2400 to spare, this ring can be yours. But if you can't afford to purchase it, you can admire it (and other lovely finds) at Erie Basin.

Rebirth

And I'm back after abandoning my blog for six months! I'm leaving all my old posts up, but stay tuned for bigger and better things!

The Bonbi Forest Indie Emporium

It's been exactly a month since I've updated! I'm not sure why I've waited so long. But it doesn't matter because I'm posting now (and per new year's resolution, will be posting more often).

The Bonbi Forest Indie Emporium is an online store that offers independently produced and handmade items from an assortment of crafters and artists. Bonbi sells Clothing, housewares and more. My personal favorite is the jewelery.
